Diabetes should no longer be considered a disease of an individual.It is a

If there is one person with diabetes in the family, the whole family should
be involved in his or her care, or else management will fail.
By far all studies have shown that introducing insulin shots very early in
diabetes will help in the long term prevention of complications.
Insulin is different from all other oral drugs in the sense that it is
natural and not artificial.It is the one otherwise produced by normal human

The success of diabetes management is in the periodic modification of medications, clearing the doubts and concerns of patients and performing regular follow up.
We have thousands of diabetes patients from other countries/ states on a weekly /monthly tele follow up program. Patients need come to Trivandrum and stay for 3 days for complete work up.They can go back to their home country and they will be followed up via telephone or internet by our team of experts.If desirable to be on CGMS or insulin pump, patients have to be in Trivandrum for a minimum of one week. |

Internet / e mail based advise(Follow up) for medications are possible only if you are a registered patient and taught about the rules and regulations of tele follow up to avoid serious errors which can happen with such a program.
Dr.Jothydev has got a consultation and comprehensive diabetes program only in Trivandrum.
Patients have to be in Trivandrum for a minimum of 3 days for getting registered with this program.
If you are so busy with other engagements this is not the place to select for treatment, since you should be very patient and relaxed to get enrolled and follow our instructions. |

Liver Risk, Death Seen With Avandia.
More than one dozen cases of liver failure and death were reported in
patients taking GlaxoSmithKline Plc's Avandia (rosiglitazone), advocacy
group Public Citizen said on Thursday in a petition calling for a ban of the
drug. But GlaxoSmithKline defended its drug, saying its own review by an
independent panel earlier this year said the liver risks were acceptable. "We do not believe there is a connection between liver toxicity and
this medicine," the company said in a statement, adding it had not yet read
the group's petition. |

Diabscreen Kerala is a major diabetes awareness project of P.Kesavadev Trust. The Diabscreen Kerala team headed by Dr.Jothydev Kesavadev is conducting diabetes awareness, prevention and treatment programs at various geographical locations in collaboration with regional organizations.
Dr.Jothydev has been conducting awareness programs since 1997.However after completing his training as an Endocrinology fellow at Mayo Clinic, USA, in dec 2003,he decided to come back to India and move in a more organised pattern. From the experience and training, received from the world class Mayo Clinic, Dr.Jothydev's desire is to bring a world class comprehensive diabetes care to the ailing patients in India described as the diabetes capital of the world.
Diabscreen Kerala has conducted more than 310 awareness camps/ programs.We conduct prevention and awareness programs in schools, colleges, also via visual and print media, detection camps etc., In this website, we are publishing pictures, videos and descriptions of some selected events. Our ultimate aim is to promote healthy living styles, generate awareness on intensive diabetic management, how to prevent the devastating complications of diabetes and assure a trouble free life in old age for all diabetes patients.
