Jothydev’s Diabetes Research Centre (JDC) is an internationally certified Insulin Pump Centre since 2004 with trained multidisciplinary team including doctors, certified dieticians, nurse educators, diabetes educators and device technicians providing round the clock service to the patients.
Insulin pumps are being successfully used by patients consulting at Jothydev’s Diabetes Centre since 2004. These patients are also, along with thousands of other patients on tele follow up via the Diabetes Tele Management System (DTMS®).
We have been in the forefront of introducing all new devices in diabetes care, as soon as it's available globally. We deployed the first generation Artificial Pancreas, 640G on Sep 2, 2015.
The first Paradigm Real Time Pump with CGM was deployed by JDC on October 22, 2006. The first Veo pump with threshold suspend capability was first used on Sep 6, 2012. The new 640G was launched for the first time on 3rd Sep 2015.

The centre has maximum number of patients on pump therapy in India; the research publications from JDC on the tremendous improvements in quality of life, sexual function and alleviation of neuropathic pain with the use of insulin pumps have been widely recognized. Pumps offer near physiological delivery of insulin and are a proven, time tested therapeutic option in both Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes patients.

Pumps have been introduced as an alternative insulin delivery device with far more advantages than the popular syringes and insulin pens. The introduction of new generation insulin pumps have made treatment of diabetes much easier and natural, offering flexibility in the timing, quality and quantity of diet. Though insulin pumps are designed for all insulin requiring patients of any age group, much more than affordability, level of motivation, self-learning skills, family support etc are taken into consideration in addition to other factors in determining whether a patient is the right candidate for pump therapy. Pump deployment decision is not based on financial capability. It's under the sole discretion of the treating team based on scientific guidelines.
Continuous Glucose Monitoring (CGM) is an innovative technology used in routine diabetes management at Jothydev’s Diabetes Research Centre (JDC) since 2005. JDC has been one among the initial centers to start using CGM. The CGMS Gold is now replaced with simpler, painless, more accurate Ipro 2 (professional CGM) and real time devices (personal CGM). We introduced Libre Pro in March 2015.(https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j7TbqKsQV24&feature=youtu.be) and Libre in October 2020 (https://youtu.be/6PQ9mn0Sd44). These are yet other revolutionary discoveries providing glucose values once every 15 minutes, for 14 days without the necessity of glucometer calibrations.
